Family history photos are just one of the many items we genealogists enjoy sharing. With the development of digitizing images, sharing has never been easier. One way to share your photos is by creating a shareable URL. Follow these step-by-step instructions to get started!
Recently, RootsTech announced their Photo+Story competition for the 2018 genealogy and family history conference. This contest encourages us to share the photos and stories of our family history to “share, persuade, inform, inspire, connect, and belong.”
Creating a Shareable URL for Photos
One of the requirements for entry to the Photo+Story Competition is to create a shareable url to your submitted photo. I thought some of you might need some instruction on how to do that!
I have created a YouTube video to guide you step-by-step on how to create a shareable url for your photos using Google Drive. Click the video below to watch.
This technique can also be used to share your photos with family members and friends.
Remember, the submission deadline for the RootsTech Photo+Story Competition is 31 December 2017. Good luck and I hope you enjoy looking through all your family photos and remembering your special stories!

Thanks, Amie. I learned something new today. I wonder how many others will try to enter and then cancel the submission because of not knowing this.
