World DNA Day is Sunday, April 25, 2021 and FamilySearch and the Family History Library have a big way to celebrate. On Monday, April 26, 2021, the Library will be sponsoring six DNA related classes. Classes will be taught via Zoom and broadcast live to RootsTech.org. Additional DNA classes and resources will also be highlighted.
Free DNA Day Webinars for Beginners & Intermediates
All classes are set for Mountain Daylight Time. The day begins at 9 am MDT and ends with the last lecture beginning at 3 pm MDT. From why genealogists use DNA, to solving brick wall problems with DNA testing, there is something for everyone. Here’s a look at the course titles. Free DNA Day Webinars for the Advanced
If you are more of an advanced DNA student, you may enjoy the many advanced DNA webinars offered at RootsTech.org. To find these, go to www.RootsTech.org. Click on “Sessions” across the top.
Type in “DNA” in the search field and all the courses available for that subject will appear. You can also click here for quick access to the free DNA courses available at RootsTech.
Remember, at RootsTech.org, you may watch the free videos without signing in, but if you do sign in with your FamilySearch account, you will be able to save it to your playlist and download the class syllabus. If you don’t have a free account to FamilySearch, it is very easy and straightforward to create one. At the RootsTech.org page, click in the top right corner on “Sign in”. You will be taken to the FamilySearch sign in page. On the right and toward the bottom, you will see an option to “Create a Free Account”. Click or tap it, give an email address, create a password, and you are all set!
